Community of Learners

History
Established in 1983 with a deep commitment to seeing every child as an individual, the school quickly expanded. Over 500 students have benefited over the years from individual attention, creative enrichment, and social learning opportunities. Our alumni and their parents tell us how much the school offered them, and have wonderful sentiments to share about their years here.

“From the first time I visited the school, I knew that I wanted my child here. The setting is peaceful and beautiful. The organic farm surrounding the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga helps teach the students about their connectedness to the earth. I was pleasantly surprised to find that gardening is included in the curriculum”.

Partnership with Parents and Staff
We are all here to work together on behalf of each student, to provide the most enriching and positive school experience possible, and we are in partnership with you to work as a team. Having so many staff and parents around helps the children develop positive relationships with other adults. We all look out for each child in our school. A feeling of family exists, which supports the development of community.

Multicultural and Community Celebrations
Parents and the extended community are invited to come celebrate many cultural and community holidays and events. Alumni kids come back year after year to dance around the Maypole or sing songs of light in December.
